GOD DID IT!

1Corinthians 15:10 (KJV, TPT), John 15:5 But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me. *But God’s amazing grace has made me who I am! And his grace to me was not fruitless. In fact, I worked harder than all the rest, yet not in my own strength but God’s, for his empowering grace is poured out upon me. *I am the vine, ye are the branches: … without me ye can do nothing.

It is important that we always acknowledge the things that God does in our lives. We must never take the glory or ascribe the glory that God deserves to someone or something else. Today, in our praise and thanksgiving, we shall be showing to God that we acknowledge and are deeply grateful for the various ways He manifested His grace and mercy in our lives.

David severally acknowledged that it was God who made him king (2Samuel 6:21-22). In John 3:27, “John answered and said, a man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven.” Did you receive anything at all this year? Everything you received this year came from God. Every good and perfect gift you received this year did not come from your smartness or connections or because of any other reason.

Every good and perfect gift you received this year, came from the Father of lights with whom there is no variableness or shadow of turning, (James 1:17). Even if your smartness and connections played any role in it, it is God who made you smart and gave you connections. He is the One who made your connections and all your efforts to work.

Every progress and promotion you experienced came from God, (Psa.75:6-7). Every evil and danger you were saved from was by the hand and the mercy of God, (Lam.3:27). It was not by power nor by might but by God’s Spirit of God that you completed those projects. It was by the invisible hand of God that were supported and sustained in all your endeavours. Safety is of the Lord. You may have been very watchful or careful, but it was actually by the help of God that you were kept safe and sound. From your heart, ascribe all of the glory to God.

Thanksgiving Guide:
Mention specific things you experienced, received or accomplished this year and ascribe the glory for it unto God.
