God Has Prepared It for You Through Jesus

John 21:3-7 (NIV)
“I’m going out to fish,” Simon Peter told them, and they said, “We’ll go with you.” … Early in the morning, Jesus stood on the shore, but the disciples did not realize that it was Jesus. He called out to them, “Friends, haven’t you any fish?” “No,” they answered. He said, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish. Then the disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, “It is the Lord!”…

The passage in our text above chronicles one of the times Jesus appeared to His disciples after His resurrection from the dead. The disciples had gone fishing and throughout the night, they were unable to catch any fish. Suddenly, Jesus showed up at the shore and though they did not know it was Him, He called out to them and told them what to do. In obedience, they caught a large number of fish. However, the miracle did not stop there. When they returned to land, the Bible records that “… they saw a charcoal fire in place, with fish laid out on it, and bread.” (John 21:9, NIV.) Jesus was already cooking what they were looking for. There was not just fish but bread also.

Beloved, I have good news for you today. Through Jesus, God has already made abundant provision for that desire in your heart right now. As Jesus instructed the disciples on what to do to catch a large number of fish, by your faith in Christ, you too will know what to do to receive the manifestation of that abundant provision that God has already made available for you. You will find that this provision that God has made is bigger and better than that which you had comprehended or desired. The Bible says, “What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?” (Rom.8:31-32, NIV.) In Christ, God has already made that thing possible and available to you freely!

That desire you have right now is going to be another opportunity for Jesus to reveal Himself to you and for you to have a deeper encounter with Him.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I receive the abundant provision that you have already prepared for me through Christ, I rejoice in your love and grace.
