God Will Keep You From Falling

2 Peter 2:7-9 (NLT) … God also rescued Lot out of Sodom because he was a righteous man who was sick of the shameful immorality of the wicked people around him…. Lot was a righteous man who was tormented in his soul by the wickedness he saw and heard day after day… the Lord knows how to rescue godly people from their trials, … while keeping the wicked under punishment until the day of final judgment.

Jude 1:24 (NLT) … all glory to God who is able to keep you from falling away and will bring you with great joy into his glorious presence without a single fault.

There will be times when the prevalence of evil around us will cause us to wonder if we can actually survive spiritually, remain standing and keep on doing the will of God in an effort to please Him. At such times, God wants us to know that He understands perfectly what we are going through because Jesus has gone through it. It is in these times that God wants to us to hold on to the profession of our faith and to come boldly to His throne of grace to obtain His mercy and grace, Heb. 4:14-16. His grace is sufficient for us.

We cannot keep ourselves from falling; rather, it is God who keeps us from falling. God keeps us from falling as we fix our gaze and focus on Jesus. Do you remember how Peter was able to walk on water as his eyes remained fixed on Jesus, Matt. 14:28-31? Do not be distracted, do not be discouraged and do not give in to any lie of the devil. Greater is He that is in you that he that is in the world, 1 John 4:4. It is possible for you to stand and be strong because God, who is at work in you is making you willing and able to do His will, Phil. 2:13. Change your focus, your perspective and your confession and align fully with what Jesus says about you. Job 22:29 says, “When men are cast down, then thou shalt say, There is lifting up; and he shall save the humble person.” Listen, when men are cast down into sin and corruption, you will say there is a lifting up because even in the midst of that sin and corruption, God will keep lifting you higher in his nature of holiness and the fruits of His righteousness, Job 22:29. Do not be moved away from the hope of the gospel, Col. 1:21-23. Instead, keep your faith in Jesus. The God that kept people like Noah, Joseph, Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego from falling is more than able to do the same for you.

Prayer:

I thank You, Heavenly Father, for Your abundant grace that is sufficient for me. My faith is in You and my eyes are on You. Thank You for keeping me.
