GOD’S WISH FOR YOUR LIFE

“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” 3 John 1:2 KJV

One of the lies of the devil to the believer is to make you think that where you are today is God’s plan for your life. Many believers are living below God’s best and think they are being humble. Child of God, you are not doing God a favour by living below your inheritance.

Look closely at the scripture for today. I know you have read it over and over again and you have memorized it; but stop and look at it again. God did not say, “my child above all things you ‘must’ or ‘shall’ prosper. He didn’t even mention ‘will’ prosper. No. God only expressed HIS WISH. God desires for you as His beloved, to prosper. In other words, the responsibility of prospering is in your hands.

However, He did not leave us without a clue. He made His wish very clear. He desires that every single believer prospers and indeed there is enough wealth in the world to go round. But the clue is in the last phrase: “even as your soul prospers.” Do you want to prosper this year? Then take heed to the prosperity of your soul.

You cannot prosper outside God. The closer you are to God, the more directly He leads you. The more He leads you, the more exact you are in your decision-making process. That way, you are not living by assumptions but by the Word of God. The truth is that as long as you are being led by God, success is guaranteed because He will lead you beside the still waters. He will show you the hidden riches of secret places. He will bless the works of your hands.

As you journey on this year, be resolute to live by the proceeding Word of God knowing that your material prosperity and health are hinged on the prosperity of your soul.
