Memorise: “Behold, every one that useth proverbs shall use this proverb against thee, saying, As is the mother, so is her daughter.” – Ezekiel 16:44
Read: Ezekiel 16:44-46
44 Behold, every one that useth proverbs shall use this proverb against thee, saying, As is the mother, so is her daughter.
45 Thou art thy mother’s daughter, that lotheth her husband and her children; and thou art the sister of thy sisters, which lothed their husbands and their children: your mother was an Hittite, and your father an Amorite.
46 And thine elder sister is Samaria, she and her daughters that dwell at thy left hand: and thy younger sister, that dwelleth at thy right hand, is Sodom and her daughters.
Bible In One Year: Jeremiah 29-30, Titus 1
MESSAGE:
Children that live their lives according to God’s tenets are great blessings to their parents. Such children will never bring their parents shame or trouble. Such children will consider the efforts their parents put into paying their school fees and make sure that they study to get excellent marks. They will, as a point of duty, help with house chores without being coerced. They will be obedient and respectful too.
However, it is unfortunate to see some children turn out differently despite all the efforts their parents put into them. Such children step out of the house each day without taking along the way of God that their parents have taught them over and over. They get to school and become troublesome, disturbing the peace of everyone. Rather than take their studies seriously, they pay no attention and don’t even care how bad their results are. They don’t help at home unless their parents scream and scream at them. They are disobedient and disrespectful children. If you belong to this set of teenagers, you have to change your attitude immediately. Your parents are not happy with you at l, and so is God. You were given to your parents to bring them joy and happiness, it is very dangerous for you not to.
Prayer Point:
Lord Jesus, please give me the grace to be a good child to my parents.
