GRACE AND SUPPORT FOR ALL LEADERS

Exodus 17:9, 11-13 (GNB)

Moses said to Joshua, “…go and fight the Amalekites…I will stand on…the hill holding the stick…God told me to carry.” *As… Moses held up his arms, the Israelites won…. When Moses’ arms grew tired, Aaron and Hur brought a stone forhim to sit on, while they stood beside him and held up his arms, holding them steady until the sun went down. In this way Joshua totally defeated the Amalekites.

As a leader, Moses knew what He was supposed to do and he was focused and committed to doing it. Moses was not a leader who just laid back and did nothing because he had people under him to get things done. Moses understood the great impact that playing his role will have on others. Moses also knew how to motivate, empower and mobilize people to do what they were supposed to do. May the grace to be effective and efficient leaders be upon all our leaders today.

Leaders need a lot of wisdom, prayers and support. Many leaders get more condemnation and discouragement than prayers, support and encouragement. Thank God for Aaron and Hur, who were there to encourage and help Moses. May God help all our leaders to surround themselves with the right people who will genuinely help and support them.

When Moses’s arms were getting tired, Aaron and Hur did not push Moses aside and take the rod from him. They didn’t allow him to faint so they could take over. They helped him with the wisdom and resources to rest and replenish his strength, while upholding his hands until the sun went down. Aaron and Hur knew their place and they stayed there faithfully.

Prayer Focus:
Pray for God’s strength and wisdom upon all our leaders. Pray for the right people to surround them.
