GRACE TO ALWAYS PROMOTE LOVE AND UNITY (2)

2CORINTHIANS 5:16, ROMANS 12:4-5 (GNB) Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more. *We have many parts in the one body, and all these parts have different functions. In the same way, though we are many, we are one body in union with Christ, and we are all joined to each other as different parts of one body.

One thing that will enhance our walking in love and unity is our changing our perspective of each other. We must change the way we see ourselves. We must stop seeing ourselves and judging ourselves based on who we are physically, for example by tribe, age, gender, financial status, denomination or any other parameter. The first and most important way that we must see every believer is as one with Christ. When Saul was persecuting the church, Jesus did not say, “Saul, Saul why are you persecuting the church?” Jesus said, “Saul, Saul why are you persecuting me?” (Acts 9:4) The church is one with Jesus. Jesus said whatever we do to the least of His brethren we are doing it unto Him, (Matt.25:40).

We must see ourselves as parts of one body. Just as every part of your body is important, every single believer is important. Some body parts look weak and some are hidden but they are all important, (Eph.4:16, Heb.10:24). We must recognize the gifts and callings of every believer and we must encourage each other to grow and function in our gifts and callings to serve and supply the grace of God to the Body of Christ. We must forbear with one another. Sometimes, your teeth may mistakenly bite your tongue and your tongue feels pain, but they reconcile, remain in your mouth and keep working together.

PRAYER:
Father, please help me to always see fellow believers as one with Christ and help me to treat them as members of the same body.
