GRACE TO KEEP RENEWING YOUR MIND (2)

Colossians 3:9-10 (KJV, TPT)
Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of Him that created him. *…..Lay aside your old Adam-self with its masquerade and disguise. For you have acquired new creation life which is continually renewed into the likeness of the One who created you; giving you the full revelation of God.

In our study yesterday, we looked at what it means to renew our minds. However, it is not enough to simply know what it means to renew our minds; we need to carry out this process of renewing our minds continually and abundantly. It is by renewing our minds that we put on our new man which is created just like Christ; we function in our new nature.

“Now it’s time to be made new by every revelation that’s been given to you. And to be transformed as you embrace the glorious Christ – within as your new life and live in union with Him! For God has recreated you all over again in His perfect righteousness, and you now belong to Him in the realm of true holiness,” (Ephesians 4:23-24, TPT).

One major benefit of continually renewing our minds is that it causes new pictures of ourselves to be formed inside us. As the King James Version states, as we renew our minds we will see (become very conscious of the fact) that we have put off the old man (our former nature). As believers, it is only by the renewal of our minds that we can truly repent. Until our minds are changed, our behaviour/ways will not change. Regretting about what we did wrong will not make us change. It is using God’s word to renew our minds that will make us change.

ACTION POINT:
Boldly declare your realities in Christ over and over again until they take hold of your mind.
