GRACE TO PERSEVERE AND BE STEADFAST

Luke 9:62 (GNB), Galatians 6:9, Hebrews 6:10

Jesus said to him, “Anyone who starts to plow and then keeps looking back is of no use for the Kingdom of God.” *And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. *For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

Patience and persistence in doing what is right is a very important principle in the kingdom of God. God wants us to be faithful, loyal and committed in all we do, knowing that His blessings and rewards will surely manifest in our life.

Our second text above tells us not to be weary in well doing. Many times, as we are doing what is right, we will be tempted to become weary, especially when the results we are expecting are not showing up as soon as we thought. This is the point where many people become discouraged and give up, but God wants us to hold on and keep doing what is right. Between seedtime and harvest, there is a waiting season. There is a due season coming and it is only if we refuse to faint or give up that we will reap. Keep your focus on the love and faithfulness of God. There is a joy set before you, (Heb.12:2).

Do not let your feelings, any circumstance, or the attitude of men discourage you in any way. Do not become discouraged or slothful in any area of your life. Be fervent and consistent. The Bible says, “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord,” (1Cor.15:58).

Prayer:
I thank you Father, for the grace you have given me to focus on you, remain faithful and committed in all I am doing.
