Memorise: ” And when Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone; and they were afraid to come nigh him. Exodus 34:30
READ: Exodus 34:29-35
29 And it came to pass, when Moses came down from mount Sinai with the two tables of testimony in Moses’ hand, when he came down from the mount, that Moses wist not that the skin of his face shone while he talked with him.
30 And when Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone; and they were afraid to come nigh him.
31 And Moses called unto them; and Aaron and all the rulers of the congregation returned unto him: and Moses talked with them.
32 And afterward all the children of Israel came nigh: and he gave them in commandment all that the LORD had spoken with him in mount Sinai.
33 And till Moses had done speaking with them, he put a vail on his face.
34 But when Moses went in before the LORD to speak with him, he took the vail off, until he came out. And he came out, and spake unto the children of Israel that which he was commanded.
35 And the children of Israel saw the face of Moses, that the skin of Moses’ face shone: and Moses put the vail upon his face again, until he went in to speak with him.
Bible In One Year: 1 Kings 16-18; John 1:29-51
MESSAGE:
How close you follow the Lord determines the level of God’s glory you can behold. In Mark 14:50-54, after Jesus was arrested and his disciples forsook Him, Peter followed Him at a distance. Today, many still follow Christ from a distance. Do you serve God only when you are happy or when it is convenient for you? Do you attend Church services only on Sundays? Do you seldom read your Bible? Do you find it a struggle to keep your eyes on Jesus alone for one hour through prayer or Bible Study? If you say yes to any of the above, you are following Jesus from afar?
Those who will experience His great glory must be ready to go the extra mile. They must be ready to pay the price. Moses climbed up he mountain to fellowship with God. He kept beholding His glory for 40 days. By the time he descended, the glory of God began to radiate from Him such that people could not look at His face and he had to wear a veil (Exodus 34:1-3; 29-35). As you begin to carry the glory of God, no enemy, problem or situation will be able to stand in your presence in the mighty name of Jesus.
Action Point:
Spend at least one hour away from your phone or any other distraction just to pray and read your Bible daily.
Hymn 1:
1.Stand up! Stand up for Jesus,
Ye soldiers of the Cross!
Lift high His royal banner,
It must not suffer loss.
From victory unto victory
His army shall He lead,
Till every foe is vanquished,
And Christ is Lord indeed.
2.Stand up, stand up for Jesus,
The solemn watchword hear;
If while ye sleep he suffers,
Away with shame and fear.
Where’re yeah meet with evil,
Within you or without,
Charge for the God of battles,
And put the foe to rout.
3.Stand up! Stand up for Jesus!
Stand in His strength alone;
The arm of flesh will fail you,
Ye dare not trust your own.
Put on the gospel armour,
And watching unto prayer;
Where duty calls, or danger,
Be never wanting there.
4.Stand up! Stand up for Jesus!
The strife will not be long;
This day the noise of battle,
The next the victor’s song.
To him that overcometh
A crown of life shall be;
He with the King of glory
Shall reign eternally.
