Grow in the Light of God’s Truth

Ephesians 4:17-18 (NIV) So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking. They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts.

Psalms 82:5-7 (NKJV) They do not know, nor do they understand; They walk about in darkness; All the foundations of the earth are unstable. I said, “You are gods, And all of your are children of the Most High. Nut you shall die like men, And fall like one of the princes.

The truth of God’s word is what connects us with the life of God. So many believers are living below God’s will and plan for their lives because they are ignorant of God’s will and plans for their lives. This is why one of the most important prayers that you must pray as a believer is the prayer that Apostle Paul prayed for the Ephesian Church in Ephesians 1:16-20. He prayed for the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Christ and for the eyes of their understanding to be enlightened so that they may know the hope of God’s calling, the riches of God’s glorious inheritance in them and the exceeding greatness of God’s resurrection which was at work in them.

When  you do not know that God has made you a king and a priest in Christ, you will live like a slave and a victim in life. The bondage in the lives of many people is simply because of the ignorance they have of what God has done for them in Christ. When we are ignorant of the wonderful things that God has made available for us in Christ, the devil can lie to us and cheat us of them or we can be deceived by false prophets into trying to work or sow seeds to earn those things. We overcome the wiles of the devil by standing on the truth of God’s Word, Eph. 6:11. When we receive God’s word, our eyes are opened and we turn from darkness to light and we shift from under the devil’s power unto the power of God, Acts 26:18. Jesus had light with which He could resist and overcome the devil’s lies and temptations, Luke 4:1-13. You must study God’s word and pull down strongholds by casting down every imagination and high thing that try to exalt themselves above the knowledge of Christ in your life, 2 Cor. 10:4-5.
