Memorise: “Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?” – 2 Cor.13.5
Read: Hebrews 12:1-3
1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
3 For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.
Bible In One Year: Psalm 142-144, 1 Corinthians 10:14-33
MESSAGE:
Life is full of situations and circumstances that are usually have varying effects on people. Many people have backslidden because of certain circumstances while some others have become stronger due to similar circumstances. Many people think that teenagers don’t have worries or go through issues too, but I know that that is not true. You may be experiencing a heart ache because of what is going on between your parents. You may be sad because of how your ambition to be in college/university at a cert time is not going as planned. You may ha e been praying about a particular thing, but it seems that God can’t hear you. I want to encourage you to hang it in there. Many times, God does things that we don’t understand but He never stops loving us and He is always working things out for our good.
I have also gone through situations and where it seemed as if God couldn’t hear my prayers, however, I always eventually realise that He was working something out for my good all the while. If you give up on Him now, you may just miss the miracle that is coming. Keep praying, but more importantly, trust Him to do what is best for you.
Prayer Point:
Father, help me never to backslid, no matter what happens.
Hymn 1:
- My faith looks up to Thee,
Thou Lamb of Calvary,
Savior divine!
Now hear me while I pray,
Take all my guilt away,
Oh, let me from this day
Be wholly Thine! - May Thy rich grace impart
Strength to my fainting heart,
My zeal inspire!
As Thou hast died for me,
Oh, may my love to Thee
Pure, warm and changeless be,
A living fire! - While life’s dark maze I tread,
And griefs around me spread,
Be Thou my guide;
Bid darkness turn to day,
Wipe sorrow’s tears away,
Nor let me ever stray
From Thee aside. - When ends life’s transient dream,
When death’s cold sullen stream
Shall o’er me roll;
Blest Savior, then, in love,
Fear and distrust remove;
Oh, bear me safe above,
A ransomed soul.
