HE KNOWS YOU BY NAME
“To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.” (John 10:3 KJV)
Sometimes because of the challenges of life, you feel rejected, forsaken, and alone. God seems very far off from you, and you feel stranded. Yes, I know at times you feel abandoned, and friends and family seem so far away; it appears that heaven is brass, and earth is iron and your prayers seem unanswered. Hear this: God never jumps ships He knows you by name and deeply cares for you.
I know you have heard that before. I know it may not look like it now, but that has not changed the fact that God loves you. His love for you is beyond words. He will never leave or forsake you. He passionately loves you to the extent that He knows the number of hairs on your head. He knows the number one and number 60 of your hair.
The joy of our relationship with God is that He goes out of His way just to minister to us individually. In John 4:4, He needed to go through Samaria which was not His way just to speak to a woman who had gone through many men and was not satisfied, very few people showed her any concern, but Jesus went out of His way to reach out to her and the encounter she had with Jesus changed her life completely. She became an instant Evangelist spreading the good news (John 4:28-29).
In Mark 5:30-34, He stopped to minister to the woman with the issue of blood. A woman who had lost all hope; even doctors had given up on her. She had been through many physicians and was not getting better, but she encountered Jesus and her story changed.
In Mark 10:46-52, He stopped just to minister to a blind man. I can go on and on to show you that you matter to Him. You are not just a number or face in the crowd. You are highly valued.
