Memorise: And the Lord came, and stood, and called as at other times, Samuel, Samuel. Then Samuel answered, Speak; for thy servant heareth. – 1 Samuel 3:10

Bible Reading: 1 Samuel 3:8-10

  1. And the Lord called Samuel again the third time. And he arose and went to Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou didst call me. And Eli perceived that the Lord had called the child.
  2. Therefore Eli said unto Samuel, Go, lie down: and it shall be, if he call thee, that thou shalt say, Speak, Lord; for thy servant heareth. So Samuel went and lay down in his place.
  3. And the Lord came, and stood, and called as at other times, Samuel, Samuel. Then Samuel answered, Speak; for thy servant heareth.

Bible Reading In One Year: Job 4-6; Acts 7:20-60

MESSAGE:

The ability to hear God is so crucial to every believer that we cannot do without it. If you can hear God speak to you, it becomes difficult for you to fall into error. One of the blessings I received when I newly became born again was the ability to hear from God. He told me several things ahead of time. Dear child, one thing you should desire above all else is the ability to hear Him speak to you. It will make your journey on earth the smoothest and easiest it can ever be.

It is appalling that people wrongly think that hearing from God is for a selected few like pastors and prophets. This is very wrong. God can speak to anyone irrespective of their profession, calling or age. Samuel was a boy the first time he heard God speak to him. However, it takes a level of intimacy with God for one to hear Him speak. You have to love him deeply and commit to living in complete obedience to Him. Secondly, you have to let God know that you need to start hearing Him speak to you. Tell Him that you are ready to do whatever He asks you to do and mean it. In no time, you will hear Him clearly.

Key Point:

You are not too young to hear from God.

Hymn: When We Walk With The Lord

  1. When we walk with the Lord
In the light of His Word,
What a glory He sheds on our way,
While we do His good will,
    He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.

Chorus:
Trust and obey,
For there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus,
But to trust and obey.

  1. Not a shadow can rise,
Not a cloud in the skies,
But His smile quickly drives it away,
Not a doubt or a fear,
Not a sigh or a tear,
Can abide while we trust and obey.
  2. Not a burden we bear,
    Not a sorrow we share,
But our toil He doth richly repay,
Not a grief nor a loss,
Not a frown nor a cross,
But is blest if we trust and obey.
  3. But we never can prove
    The delights of His love,
Until all on the altar we lay,
    For the favour He shows,
    And the joy He bestows,
Are for them who will trust and obey.
  4. Then in fellowship sweet
We will sit at His feet,
Or we’ll walk by His side in the way,
What He says we will do,
Where He sends, we will go,
Never fear, only trust and obey.
