…how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

Some purport that we are all on the same road headed for the same destination, that there are many ways to God.

But His Word tells a different – and true – story! Jesus decisively proclaimed that He is the only way, truth, and life. No one can approach the Father without Jesus taking us there (John 14:6).

Is God’s heart so hard that He will not show mercy if someone weeps remorsefully at the day of judgment? Can we prevail upon God for forgiveness then? Not if we reject the sacrifice of Jesus and His cleansing blood now.

What if we donate all of our money to feed and shelter the poor? Our church membership, good standing in the community, and sterling reputations cannot earn us places in heaven. Without faith in Jesus and the work of the cross, our most shining deeds are like filthy rags. We are decaying leaves whose wickedness, like the wind, carries us far away from God’s favor (Isaiah 64:6).

The tomb of Jesus is empty. Angels rolled away the stone – not to let Jesus out, but to let us enter – so we could see that God has accepted His sacrifice. The only way to meet the Father is through the blood of Jesus.

Blessing:

May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you and give you His peace. May the blood of Jesus cover you and keep you until our righteous Lamb returns as the reigning Lion. Hallelujah!
