How Are You Living Your Life?

Ephesians 4:17-20(NIV), Ephesians 5:8 (NIV)
…you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking. They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts. Having lost all sensitivity, they have given themselves over to sensuality so as to indulge in every kind of impurity, and they are full of greed. That, however, is not the way of life you learned *For you were oncedarkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light

If you have put your faith in Jesus and received His life, it must show in the way you live your life. You cannot continue to live your life the way the people of the world are living their lives. You are a new creature. Old things have passed away and all things have become new, (2Cor5:17). Romans 6:6 says our old man was crucified with Christ and the power of sin over us has been destroyed so that we will no longer serve sin. We now have the choice and the power to say no to sin. The grace of God teaches us to say no to sin and to deny ungodliness, (Tit.2:11-12). Put off the old man of sin and put on the new man-Christ, (Eph.4:22-24).

Jesus did not die for us so that we can continue to live our lives anyhow we want. He died and gave His life for us so that we will live for Him, (2Cor.5:15). He wants us to live His life. He wants to live His life through us. We are made for good works. We are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, (Eph.2:10). Jesus does not only want us to do good works, He wants us to be zealous for good works. The Bible says that Jesus, “…gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity and purify unto himself a peculiar people zealous of good works.” Do not forget who you are, (1Pet.2:9). Do not join the people of the world to walk in darkness. Shine your light. Be different. Stand out for good. Do not say that everybody is doing it. You are not everybody, you are a child of God and you have the life of Christ. Arise and shine. The Bible says God’s glory is risen upon you. As you arise and shine, Gentiles (people who don’t know God) will come to your light and kings (people of influence) will come to the brightness of your rising, (Isa.60:1-3).

Faith Declaration:
I am different. I am a new creation. Old things have passed away and all things have become new. I shine and do good works always.
