HOW ARE YOU WALKING?

3JOHN vs.3-4 (NKJV, NLT) …I rejoiced greatly when brethren came and testified of the truth that is in you, just as you walk in the truth. I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth. *Some…teachers …made me very happy by telling me about your faithfulness and that you are living according to the truth. I could have no greater joy than to hear that my children are following the truth.

When the Bible speaks about our ‘walk’, it is mostly referring to the way we live our lives, which entails our behaviours, attitudand lifestyle. The Bible is full of scriptures showing us how God wants us to walk or live our lives. God wants us to walk in the Spirit (Gal.5:16&25), walk in the light (Eph.5:8, 1 John 1:7) walk in the truth and walk as Jesus walked (1 John 2:6).

Walking in truth is central to our walk as God’s children. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life and we cannot be all God wants us to be without Him, (John 14:6). Knowing the truth is not complete if we are not walking in it (i.e. if it is not influencing and reflecting in our lives). Knowing Christ is not about being aware of Christ or having head knowledge of Christ. Knowing Christ is about having a relationship with Christ and experiencing Him by walking in His truth and walking as He walked.

Our behaviours are affected by our belief system. Until we know and believe the things God has done for us in Christ, we cannot walk in them. We must accept them as our reality. Fill your mind with the revelation of Christ and renew your mind with this truth of Christ until it starts reflecting in your behaviour and lifestyle.

PRAYER:
Father, help me fill my heart with your truth and renew my mind with it until it begins to influence and reflect in my life.
