How Are Your Management Skills? (Part 2)
“Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much.” Luke 16:10
So, how do you know if you are managing your money wisely? Well, one question to ask yourself today is, “Am I living within my means, or am I going into crazy debt trying to have things that I can’t presently afford?” Are you saving up money for things before you buy them, or are you maxing out credit cards or, even worse, renting things you can’t currently afford?
Another question to ask yourself is, “Am I being faithful to tithe and give to my church?” You don’t cheat God when you don’t give your tithe. You cheat yourself. The church is a blessing to you and your family as well as the community it serves, so when you choose not to be faithful in tithing, you are actually being cheated.
One thing to understand is that you don’t own anything. Everything on the earth belongs to God, and you are just borrowing it for a select amount of time. Your name may be on the title, but it wasn’t yours 100 years ago, and it won’t be yours 100 years from now. In the end, it will go back to the real owner, who is God, and He will decide to give it to whoever He wants to give it to.
Notice that the master ended up giving the servant who had been entrusted with the most bags of gold the gold that the lazy servant didn’t use. The master said, “Give it to the faithful man, that he might have abundance.” (Matthew 25) Don’t let a religious spirit make you believe that God is stingy. God’s dream for you is a life of abundance. “The thief cometh not, but for to kill, and destroy: I have come that they might have life and that they might have it more abundantly.” These are the words of Jesus found in John 10:10.
The clock is ticking on your destiny right now. There are windows of opportunity waiting for you, and God promises that He takes pleasure in blessing you and your family if you choose to manage what He gives you wisely.
