HOW PAUL DISPLAYED SPIRITUAL MINDEDNESS

Galatians 2:20-21, Philippians 1:21 (KJV, CEV)

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.*For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. *If I live, it will be for Christ, and if I die, I will gain even more.

Paul abundantly practised the admonition he gave in Romans 8:5-8 about being spiritually minded. Paul had a strong consciousness that it was no longer him that was living but Christ that was living through him. He lived his life by the faith of Christ. Paul valued the knowledge of Christ more than everything else he possessed and everything he had achieved. His greatest desire was to know Christ and to be like Christ, (Phil.3:7-10). He knew that it was only by the grace of God that he had become everything he was, (1Cor.15:10). The only thing Paul boasted about was the Cross of the Lord Jesus Christ. For by it, he was dead to the world and the world was dead to him, (Gal.6:14, GNB).

The type of prayers Paul prayed also reflected how spiritually minded he was. He prayed a lot for others and most of His prayers were based on knowing and growing in the revelation of Christ, (Eph.1:15-20, Eph.3:14-19, Col.1:9-11). He did not allow anything move him from finishing his assignment of preaching the Gospel of the grace of God with joy, (Acts 20:24). This was more important to him than even his life. He passionately preached Christ and the riches of Christ, (2Cor.4:5, Eph.3:8). He was not disobedient to the heavenly vision, (Acts 26:19). He fought the good fight, he laid hold of eternal life and he finished his course, (1Tim.6:12, 2Tim.4:7).

Prayer:
Dear Father, please help me to value knowing Christ above all things. Help me to live by the faith of Christ and to preach Christ.
