HOW TO ACCESS & WALK IN YOUR GLORIOUS INHERITANCE (1)

Colossians 1:9 (GNB, CEV)

…we have always prayed for you, ever since we heard about you. We ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will, with all the wisdom and understanding that his Spirit gives. *We have not stopped praying for you since … we heard about you. In fact, we always pray that God will show you everything he wants you to do and that you may have all the wisdom and understanding that his Spirit gives.

The inheritance that a father passes to his children is usually contained in his will. If the heirs of an inheritance are ignorant of the will of their father or the will is wrongly interpreted to them, there is no way they will be able to access and enjoy all of the inheritance bestowed on them by their father. In the same way, to walk in the fullness of the glorious inheritance that God has made available for us in Christ, we have to be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding. One of the Holy Spirit’s responsibilities is to administer the will of God the Father to us. He makes us understand it and also access and enjoy it.

Just as the will of a father is usually written down, God has also written down His will for us. His will is contained in His word. As you study the word of God, the Holy Spirit wants to open your eyes and fill your heart with the knowledge of the will of God for you in Christ Jesus. He will give you all spiritual wisdom. He will help you know how you can practise and apply the will of God in various areas of your life. He will give you deep insights to God’s will for your life.

Pray for the Spirit to fill you with the knowledge of God’s will and as He reveals God’s will to you, thank God for it and pray it into your life.

Prayer:
Dear Father, as I study your word, please fill me with the knowledge of your will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding
