HOW TO FIND YOUR NEW LIFE

MATTHEW 10:38-39 (AMPC), COLOSSIANS 3:4 (GNB) And he who does not take up his cross and follow Me [cleave steadfastly to Me, conforming wholly to My example in living and, if need be, in dying also] is not worthy of Me. Whoever finds his [lower] life will lose it [the higher life], and whoever loses his [lower] life on My account will find it [the higher life].*Your real life is Christ and when he appears, then you too will appear with him and share his glory!

Now that we have put our faith in Christ, we are new creatures. Our old life is gone and we have received a new and higher life – the life of Christ. For this new life of Christ in us to grow and find expression, we must continually deny (die to) our old life and yield to (embrace) this new life of Christ in us. We can only do this by faith in Christ (Heb.10:38) and by the help of the Holy Spirit, (Rom.8:14).

One major avenue for us to experience this is when we are tempted to sin/to express our old nature, or when we are going through challenges. As human beings, we naturally like doing things we are used to or comfortable with. We like to preserve our ego, feelings and resources. As such, there will be the tendency to think, say and do what is convenient for our flesh, desires and old life. But if we continue to do this, we will never find and experience the growth and manifestation of that new life of Christ that we have received.

By faith in Christ, we must die and let go of our old life in order to find/experience that new life. For even if we don’t know what will happen or how we will feel, the new life in Christ is better and more glorious than the old life. God’s ways and thoughts are higher than man’s (Isa.55:8-9). We must reach a point where, even if it means dying physically, we are willing to let go of our old life and its ways in order to yield to Christ’s life and ways. Christ is the source of our existence.

FAITH DECLARATION:
Christ is my life. As I yield myself to Christ to obey and do His will, the new life of Christ in me grows and manifests
