HOW TO HANDLE FEARFUL SITUATIONS

“And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the LORD, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah. And Judah gathered themselves together, to ask help of the LORD: even out of all the cities of Judah they came to seek the LORD.” 2 Chronicles 20:3-4 (KJV)

When Jehoshaphat received the report that the enemy was coming against him with a large army, he feared. You see, fear is not a wrong thing. It is an act of human emotion. But the only thing is: how do you direct your fear? When fear comes, how should it be directed? Look at what King Jehoshaphat did! “Shaken, Jehoshaphat prayed. He went to God for help…” (2 Chronicles 20:3MSG). Where you run in times of trouble determines how you will come out.

Desperate situations require desperate actions. Jehoshaphat gathered all the people together, and they cried unto the Lord for help. He knew that only God could deliver him and the people of Judah. God responded to Jehoshaphat’s prayers for help.

“Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the LORD with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; to morrow go out against them: for the LORD will be with you. And Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground: and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell before the LORD, worshipping the LORD.” (2 Chronicles 20:17-18 KJV)

Beloved, prayers work! Corporate prayers work. Prayers turn hopeless situations around. When you are called for prayers, don’t begin to pick and choose whether to be involved or not. The intervention that gave Jehoshaphat victory happened in the place of prayers. Do you want uncommon results? Do you desire uncommon divine intervention? Don’t trivialize the place of prayers.

The battle today is fierce! It is scary! And it is real! The intention of the adversary is to take you out. We must, therefore, deploy all the weapons that God has made available to us in these last days. One of those weapons is prayers – both corporate and personal prayers!
