HOW TO PRAY ABOUT THE POWER OF GOD

Ephesians 1:15-16, 18-20 (GNB)

…ever since I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all of God’s people,… I remember you in my prayers *I ask that your minds may be opened to see……how very great is his power at work in us who believe. This power working in us is the same as the mighty strength which he used when he raised Christ from death and seated him at his right side in the heavenly world.

As believers in Christ, we do not pray or ask for the power of God. When we put our faith in Christ and received the baptism of the Spirit, we received all the power of God that we need, (Acts 1:8). The same Spirit that anointed Christ to do exploits (Acts 10:38) is now living and at work in our lives (Rom.8:11). The very same power that raised Christ from the dead is now at work in us. What we pray about is for our eyes to be opened so we can understand and be more conscious of this mighty power that is now at work in us.

The power of God is already at work in you, (Eph.3:20). Talking about the operations of the Spirit, Jesus said out of your belly (innermost being) will flow rivers of living water, (John 7:38-39). He did not say it will come down from above. While sending His disciples forth, Jesus said to them “And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give. The power of God is one of the things you freely received along with Christ, (Rom.8:32). What you need to do now is to keep thanking God for His mighty power He has given you and to keep asking God to open your eyes to this great power at work in you. The more you are conscious of this power, the more confident you will be and it will manifest and flow out of you.

Prayer:
I thank you Heavenly Father for your mighty power at work in me. Open my eyes more and more to actualize the power.
