HOW WE SUFFER WITH CHRIST (2)

1PETER 4:14-16 (TPT) If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are greatly blessed, because the Spirit of glory and power, who is the Spirit of God, rests upon you. Let none of you merit suffering as a murderer, or thief, or criminal, or as one who meddles in the affairs of others. If you suffer for being a Christian, don’t consider it a disgrace but a privilege. Glorify God because you carry the Anointed One’s name.

In addition to preaching the Gospel of Christ, another way we suffer with Christ is as we bear His name by standing for Him (for His will and for His glory).

There will be many times and places where we will go through serious challenges, trials and persecutions, all because we believe in Jesus and we want to stand for Him and do His will, (2Tim.3:12). There will be many times when you will be faced with many temptations to compromise your faith in Christ; to say and do the wrong thing that everyone around you is doing. When you choose to say no and stand for Christ and do His will in such situations, people are going to hate you, call you all sorts of names and even maltreat you and conspire against you. Jesus said, “…you will be arrested and handed over to be punished and be put to death. Everyone will hate you because of me. Many will give up their faith at that time; they will betray one another and hate one another,” (Matt.24:9-10, GNB).

Where Jesus spoke about Paul suffering for His name in Acts 9:16, the word ‘name’ there is authority or character. God wants us to do everything we do in the name (authority and character) of Christ, (Col.3:17). Remember that it is His life we are living. As you yield to Christ and stand for Him in that challenging moment, the glory and power of God’s Spirit is stirred up in your life.

FAITH DECLARATION:
Christ is my life. I live and stand for Christ always. I please Christ and do His will always. My life glorifies Him
