…eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him

Rapture! People talk of it as a never-seen-before happening, but the Bible tells us of several mysterious incidents when believers were snatched up and carried from one place to another.

Enoch was a man who walked with God and pleased Him. He did not die; God simply took him (Genesis 5:24).

A fiery, horse-drawn chariot whisked Elijah away to heaven in a whirlwind (II Kings 2:11).

When King Uzziah died, Isaiah was “carried away” in a vision where he saw God seated on His throne, surrounded by angels declaring His holiness (Isaiah 6:1).

As Jesus’ disciples looked on in Acts 1:9, He ascended from the earth and disappeared into the clouds. Two angels declared that, in the same way He left, He will one day return.

On the way to Gaza, Philip baptized an Ethiopian eunuch alongside the road. As the eunuch came out of the water, Philip was transported to Azotus, a city over 30 miles away (Acts 8)!

In II Corinthians 12, Paul shared how he was caught up to tour the third heaven before returning to earth.

The seventh rapture will occur when Jesus catches away the victorious Church. We can exhaust our imaginations but still not grasp how indescribably wonderful it will be when we all go home!

Blessing:

May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you and give you His peace. Like Enoch, may you walk with God and please Him. May you eagerly anticipate the day we are caught away home!
