But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.
Are we – the corporate church in America – choosing daily bread or deadly bread?
Statisticians report that more and more churches close every year in this nation. Fewer people read the Bible, believe in God, or follow the Ten Commandments. More people claim that Jesus is not the only way to heaven.
Jesus declared that God’s Word is truth (John 17:17), but we have disconnected from the eternal source of our strength. We are not reading. We are not living. We are not standing on the eternal promises of God.
We have forgotten our freedom. We have debated – more than declared – His truth. We have argued our agendas rather than committing to the Great Commission. We have reduced the Gospel to a religion of rules rather than relationship. We have fought for preference rather than carrying out our purpose. More than relevance, we need to be filled with God’s revelation!
We are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a consecrated nation, God’s own special possession. He has transported us out of darkness into His marvelous light for this purpose – so that we can proclaim His praises! Let us arise and shine again.
Blessing:
May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you and give you His peace. May His people humble themselves, pray, seek His face, and turn from their wicked ways. May He hear us from heaven, forgive us, and heal our land. In Jesus’ name, amen.
