For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God…
The beauty of the scales of God’s Word is that nothing in heaven nor the world beneath has the power to knock them out of balance.
Truth tells us that two types of people exist in this world – the just and the unjust. No matter the diversities of our cultures and creeds, God simply sees the just and the unjust.
The just never committed a sin. The unjust – no matter who we are or where we are from – were born in sin. The just was the Darling of Heaven in need of nothing. The unjust deserved nothing. The just was the only begotten Son of the Father. The unjust were imprisoned in death, enslaved by iniquity, and sentenced to hell.
God placed the unjust on the scales and considered our transgression and unrighteousness. Into those scales, He placed justice. All things being equal, without Jesus, God knew we would live an eternity without Him.
So, there in the balance, He hung His Son. Oh, what God did at Calvary when He stretched the Truth between heaven and earth, when He twisted the Truth on a rugged cross, when He bent the Truth with stripes across His back, and He buried the Truth in a grave. Truth arose – the just for the unjust – to bring us close forever!
Today’s Blessing:
May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you and give you His peace. Christ balanced the scales to bring you into His kingdom and call you His child! To Him be the glory!
