Therefore comfort one another with these words

A global pandemic, racial tension, murder hornets, and a Saharan Desert dust cloud – 2020 has been a turbulent onslaught of challenges. Current headlines come straight from the pages of Scripture.

On the other side of this chaos shines a promise that causes us to live above the fray, a comfort that floods our hearts with the profound peace of God. Jesus’ foot is poised to step onto the clouds of glory.

Paul says that the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout – a symbol of victory over death, hell, and the grave.

He will descend with the voice of the archangel – an announcement of the appearance of royalty – the King of kings, the Lord of lords, the Prince of peace.

He will come with the trump of God – the clarion call that precedes the arrival of a king.

All of that noise is going to wake up the dead, and they will emerge from their graves to rise first. Then, those believers who are alive and remain will be caught up in the clouds to finally meet our Savior in the air. What will only take moments here will result in our forever family reunion in heaven!

In the face of the tumult around us, comfort one another with these reminders. Stand up straight, raise your head, and rejoice! Our redemption is oh so close!

Blessing:

May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you and give you His peace. Paradise awaits at the end of that trumpet blast! All praise and glory to the Faithful and True with Whom we will reign eternally!
