Memorise: “How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?” – Proverbs 1:22

Read: Proverbs 1:22-23

22 How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?

23 Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.

Bible In One Year: Lamentation 3-5, Hebrews 8

MESSAGE:

Knowledge is the key to life. It is power. People say that what you don’t know can’t kill you, but this is very wrong. The more knowledge you have, the better your survival chances. If a baby touches hot iron, it will burn him regardless of whether he knew that the iron was hot or not. Anyone ignorant is in the dark, we are all born into darkness but the knowledge we acquire, the more light we bring into the world.

Don’t just go to school, learn as much as you can everyday, whether it is in a classroom or outside a classroom. Engage in intelligent discussions that leave you more informed and read books that increase your knowledge of God as you can. Make the Holy Bible your best friend. The more of God and His word you know, the better your chances of overcoming challenges and the devil.

Key Point:

The more you know, the higher you go.

Hymn 1:

  1. My faith looks up to Thee,
    Thou Lamb of Calvary,
    Savior divine!
    Now hear me while I pray,
    Take all my guilt away,
    Oh, let me from this day
    Be wholly Thine!
  2. May Thy rich grace impart
    Strength to my fainting heart,
    My zeal inspire!
    As Thou hast died for me,
    Oh, may my love to Thee
    Pure, warm and changeless be,
    A living fire!
  3. While life’s dark maze I tread,
    And griefs around me spread,
    Be Thou my guide;
    Bid darkness turn to day,
    Wipe sorrow’s tears away,
    Nor let me ever stray
    From Thee aside.
  4. When ends life’s transient dream,
    When death’s cold sullen stream
    Shall o’er me roll;
    Blest Savior, then, in love,
    Fear and distrust remove;
    Oh, bear me safe above,
    A ransomed soul.
