But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ

It is impossible for God to lie. He only deals in Truth. Satan, on the other hand, has nothing to do with Truth. He is a liar and the father of lies.

A wicked combination of pride, arrogance, and deception causes us to deny the Truth. Satan himself is our warning. In Isaiah 14:14, in a moment of self-deception, he said, “I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.” He went toe-to-toe with Truth, and God ejected him from heaven.

He deceived one-third of the angels who fell with him. He manipulated Eve with the exact lie he told himself. He operates the same today, prowling about like a roaring lion, seeking to devour the unsuspecting.

He distorts God’s Word to make us doubt. He leads us to create a different truth that convinces us of our rightness and the error of scripture. When we think we know better or that alternative truths will lead us to God, we are deceived.

The God Who lives in us is greater than that serpent of old! He has given us the Truth of His Word and equipped us with the armor of God that we may stand against the wiles of Satan.

Today’s Blessing:

May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you and give you His peace. Even demons are subject to the powerful name of Jesus Christ Who lives in you. God has given you power to overcome the evil one!
