Those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the firmament, and those who turn many to righteousness like the stars forever and ever

Believers bear the responsibility of carrying the message of redemption to the lost. We are saved to save others.

In Acts 10, we meet Cornelius, a devout man who honored God and prayed continually. An angel appeared to him one day and instructed him to send for Simon Peter who would tell Cornelius what to do.

By the time Cornelius’ men arrived, God had already prepared Peter’s heart. He went along and shared the Gospel, and Cornelius’ family became the first Gentile converts. Why didn’t the angel tell Cornelius how to be saved himself?

On the road to Damascus, Jesus knocked Saul off of his donkey as he went to persecute Christians. Struck blind, Saul was led to Judas’ house where the Lord told him that a man named Ananias would come to lay hands on him so he would receive his sight.

In another Damascus home, God spoke to Ananias and instructed him to go and minister to Saul. When he prayed for him, the scales fell from his eyes, he was filled with the Holy Spirit and baptized. Jesus certainly had his attention on the Damascus Road. Why didn’t He deal directly with Saul?

Not angels. Not Jesus. We are the elected instruments of salvation for the lost everywhere, ambassadors for our Savior.

Blessing:

May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you and give you His peace. Through the word of your testimony and the blood of Jesus, may many be reconciled to God the Father.
