ILLEGAL OCCUPANTS

Scripture Reading: JOSHUA 2: 1-24

Focus

“And Joshua the son of Nun sent out of Shittim two men to spy secretly, saying, Go view the land, even Jericho. And they went, and came into an harlot’s house, named Rahab, and lodged there.” (Joshua 2: 1)

It is instructive to note that when God declared that Jericho was part of the land He promised the children of Israel, Jericho itself was inhabited. There were people occupying the territory that God had ordained for the children of Israel. There were rivals who had already taken up spaces in the new territory that God wanted to give His people. There were illegal occupants of the portion of Israel. There were illegal occupants of Jericho.

Friend, every illegal occupant of your ‘Jericho’, I command them to go down by fire. I command every impostor occupying your God ordained position, to go down by fire. I command every usurper to get off your throne. I command every man who is contending for your portion to release it by fire. I command every gang up to deny you of your portion, to go down by fire. I command every contender for your throne to go down.

God already knew that there were occupants in Jericho before He decided to hand over the territory to Joshua and his generation. God basically took what was already under the control of another group of persons and handed same over to Joshua and his generation. Hear me as I hear the Lord: the same portions that heaven destined for you that are in the hands of other men, God will take same away from them and give to you.

Notice that the inhabitants of Jericho did not simply walk away and leave their territory for Israel; an angel of the Lord with a drawn sword showed up, and the walls of Jericho fell down flat. Heaven fought a battle against the inhabitants of Jericho and they had no choice but to leave their city. Heaven will fight against every illegal occupant of the space that God has made for you. Heaven will push them away and put you in.

Don’t allow the illegal occupants of your throne to remain there indefinitely. Enlist the ministry of angels, strike them and push them out by fire.
