In Season

Sep 05, 2021

Today’s Scripture

Psalm 1:3, NIVThat person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither–whatever they do prospers.

Today’s Word

Psalm 1 says to meditate on God’s Word day and night. That means we’re not worried or frustrated, wondering why something is taking so long. We’re at peace. We know that God is in control. When you do this, it says you will be like a tree planted by the water, which brings forth its fruit in its season. It doesn’t say it will bear fruit 365 days a year. It says “in season.” It implies there will be waiting periods, periods of no growth, periods where we don’t see anything happening.

The question is, when you’re not in a producing season, a growing season, a harvest season, are you going to get discouraged and think it’s never going to change? Are you going to lose your passion and give up on what God promised you? If you keep meditating on God’s Word, keep your mind filled with thoughts of hope and faith, then without even trying, you’re going to come into your due season.

Prayer for Today

Father, thank You for the desires You have put in my heart. Thank You that I don’t have to work for them or make them happen on my own, but You will bring them to pass in due season. I will fill my mind with Your Word and be like that tree planted by water. In Jesus’ Name, Amen
