INCREASE YOUR CAPACITY

2 Kings 4:3-6 (GNB)

“Go to your neighbors and borrow as many empty jars as you can,” …”Then you and your sons go into the house, close the door, and start pouring oil into the jars. Set each one aside as soon as it is full.” So the woman went into her house with her sons…When they had filled all the jars, she asked if there were any more. “That was the last one,” one of her sons answered. And the olive oil stopped flowing.

As you desire and pray for an increase in your impact and influence, you must be ready to also increase your capacity so you will be able to carry or contain the increase that God will bring into your life.

When Jesus helped Peter catch an unbelievably large amount of fish in Luke 5:4-7, his net began to break and when his partners came to help him, both ships got filled and they began to sink. Great and massive increase is coming into your life, family, business and ministry and I pray that you will have the capacity to contain it. In our text above, the widow’s oil kept on increasing and overflowing, until one of her sons said there were no more vessels to pour into. The oil was not limited, it was their capacity to contain it that was limited.

One way to increase your capacity is to increase your joy and vision. “Sing and shout, even though you have never had children! The LORD has promised that you will have more children than someone married for a long time,” (Isa.54:1, CEV). See God divinely bringing great increase into your life and start rejoicing about it. The joy of the Lord is your strength, (Neh.8:10). After Lot left Abraham, God told Abraham to lift up his eyes and look in all directions, for God was going to give him as far as his eyes could see, (Gen.13:14-15).

Prayer:
I thank you Father for the great increase you are bringing into my life. Help me to increase my capacity.
