INCREASE YOUR FOCUS ON CHRIST

Matthew 14:28-31 (LB), Luke 10:42 (TPT)…“Sir, if it is really you, tell me to come over to you, walking on the water.” “All right,” the Lord said, “come along!” So Peter …walked on the water toward Jesus. But when he looked around at the high waves, he was terrified and began to sink. “Save me, Lord!” he shouted. Instantly Jesus reached out his hand and rescued him. “O man of little faith,” Jesus said. “Why did you doubt me?” *Mary has discovered the one thing most important by choosing to sit at my feet. She is undistracted, and I won’t take this privilege from her.”

We can never get tired of focusing on Christ, because as children of God, we do not have anyone or anything else to focus on. There is no one that loves us the way Christ does. It is only Christ that suffered, died, was buried and was raised up for us. We were actually raised up with Him too. God wants us to focus only on Jesus and not on Moses or Elijah or anyone else, (Matt.17:3-5). It is Christ alone that upholds us. The Bible says He upholds all things by the word of His power (Heb.1:3). He is the Lord of both the living and the dead, (Rom.14:9). All power belongs to Him (Matt.28:18). He is the author and finisher of our faith, (Heb.12:2). Without Him we can do nothing (John 15:5) and we can do all things through His strength in our lives (Phil.4:13). Christ is our pattern and He is our standard. Our destiny is to be like Him in every area of our lives, (Rom.8:29, Eph.4:15). Of His fullness we receive grace for grace, (John 1:16).

So many distractions and discouragements will surely come, but you must not let them stop you from keeping your focus on Christ. The devil is ready to do anything and everything to make you stop focusing on Christ, because He knows the great power, blessings, peace, wisdom and supernatural experiences that will fill your life as you keep your focus on Christ. If you keep your focus on Christ, no matter what comes your way, it will not drown or sink you. You will continue to rise and walk above it. He will continue to lift you on eagles’ wings. Do not let any kind of activity make you stop focusing on Christ. Fellowship with Him, fill your heart with the revelations of who He is and all He has done for you and keep trusting and leaning completely on Him. Like Apostle Paul, let your greatest desire always be to know Christ, (Phil.3: 8-10).

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I desire to know Christ more and to increase my focus on Him. Help me not to allow anything take my focus from Christ.
