INCREASING IN GOD’S LIGHT

Proverbs 4:18, John 1:4-5, Matthew 5:16 But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day. *But the lovers of God walk on the highway of light, and their way shines brighter and brighter until they bring forth the perfect day. *In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. *Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

What comes to your mind when you hear the word light? I am sure you will agree with me that light is usually used to describe something that is good. Two major things the light of God refers to in the Bible are the life of God that is in you and the ways of God that you walk in. This is where we get our light from. This is why our light is superior to every other kind of light or darkness in the world.

God wants us to continue increasing, maturing and to continue walking in His ways. The more we do this, the greater effect we will have, as our light will so shine before men and they will see our good works and glorify God. The light of God in you is not supposed to remain at the same level for a long time. It is an ever-increasing light that shines brighter and brighter unto perfection. Our lives are supposed to move from glory to glory by the Spirit of God, (2Cor.3:18). This should be your desire and faith continually. Be deliberate about stirring up the life of God in you and walking more in God’s ways. Darkness cannot overpower the light of God that is in you. In God, you have been graced to continually shine brighter and brighter. As you let your light shine brighter and brighter, your life will bring glory to God.

In James 1:17, the Bible says every good and perfect gift comes from above and comes from the Father of Lights with whom is no variableness nor shadow of turning. Your life will continually be filled with good and perfect things because your God who is the Father of Lights will continue to shine in your life.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I thank you for your life in me that helps me walk in your ways. May your life in me keep growing and may I walk more in your ways.
