Memorise: For he shall deliver the needy when he crieth; the poor also, and him that hath no helper. Psalms 72:12

Bible Reading: Psalms 71:5-9

  1. For thou art my hope, O Lord God: thou art my trust from my youth.
  2. By thee have I been holden up from the womb: thou art he that took me out of my mother’s bowels: my praise shall be continually of thee.
  3. I am as a wonder unto many; but thou art my strong refuge.
  4. Let my mouth be filled with thy praise and with thy honour all the day.
  5. Cast me not off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength faileth.

Bible Reading In One Year: Nehemiah 7-8; Acts 3:1-26

MESSAGE:

In 2 Kings 6:1-7, the sons of the prophets were permitted by Elisha and even accompanied by him on their expansion programme, yet they ran into a problem; they lost the borrowed axe head. This tells us that even when you are in God’s will and working in total obedience to God, you can still run into problems. Don’t be of the opinion that a life with Christ is a life without challenges.

It is such beliefs that make Christians think that God has deserted them when they encounter any problem and then give up on God, thereby backing out of God’s will.

You must expect Satan’s challenges and opposition from time to time especially when you are on the right path. In fact, the more important you are to God, the more Satan will attack you with every weapon at his disposal.

The good news is that God is ALL you need to overcome, and He is already with you. The Bible says greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world.

Therefore, you need not be afraid. Just hold on tight to God, and at every juncture call on Him for assistance. He will surely help you if you’re His child.

Key Point:

Can you confidently say you are insured against problems?

Hymn: My Faith Looks Up To Thee

  1. My faith looks up to Thee,
    Thou Lamb of Calvary,
    Saviour divine!
    Now hear me while I pray,
    Take all my guilt away;
    O let me from this day
    Be wholly Thine.
  2. May Thy rich grace impart
    Strength to my fainting heart,
    My zeal inspire;
    As Thou hast died for me,
    O may my love to Thee
    Pure, warm, and changeless be,
    A living fire.
  3. While life’s dark maze | tread,
    And griefs around me spread,
    Be Thou my guide;
    Bid darkness turn to day,
    Wipe sorrow’s tears away,
    Nor let me ever stray
    From Thee aside.
  4. When ends life’s transient dream,
    When death’s cold, sullen stream
    Shall o’er me roll,
    Blest Saviour, then in love,
    Fear and distrust remove;
    O bear me safe above,
    A ransomed soul.
