Intercession and Strengthening of the Spirit

Romans 8:26-27 (TPT)
…the Holy Spirit takes hold of us in our human frailty to empower us in our weakness. For example, at times we don’t even know how to pray, or know the best things to ask for. But the Holy Spirit rises up within us to super-intercede on our behalf, pleading to God with emotional sighs too deep for words. God, the searcher of the heart, knows fully our longings, yet he also understands the desires of the Spirit, because the Holy Spirit passionately pleads before God for us, his holy ones, in perfect harmony with God’s plan and our destiny.

As a believer in Christ, there is no longer any reason why you cannot succeed, overcome and prevail in every area of your life. By the glorious intercession and strengthening of the Holy Spirit, you now have the advantage in that area of your life that you may sometimes feel disadvantaged in. Because we are still housed in our human bodies, there may be areas of our lives where we still face limitations and struggles- even though we are born again, new creatures and members of the family of God. God does not want us to become frustrated or resigned to the fact that’ we are just humans.” No. Rather, God wants us to be conscious that by the glorious intercession and strengthening of the Spirit, we can function beyond our human limitations and experience His supernatural enablement and victory.

Jesus said, “And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that He may remain with you forever.” (John 14:16, AMP.) Jesus also assured us that the Holy Spirit will guide us into all truth, show us things to come and manifest His glory in our lives by taking what belongs to Him and revealing it to us (John 16:13-14). As such, in that your area of weakness, there is always a beautiful exchange taking place. The Holy Spirit is taking your weakness and exchanging it with the strength of Christ. You never need to be afraid that you are not praying accurately because the Holy Spirit joins us every time we pray to make our prayers as accurate and in line with God’s will for us- as if it was Jesus Himself praying. Our text above assures us that He does so passionately. As you trust God right now, His strength is being perfected in every weak area of your life.

Prayer:
Dear Father, I thank you for the glorious intercession and strengthening of your Spirit in my life. I receive the glory and strength of Christ.
