IS JESUS REALLY THE LORD OF YOUR LIFE?

Matthew 7:21 (TPT), Luke 6:46 (GNB), Galatians 5:24 (GNB) “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the realm of heaven’s kingdom. It is only those who persist in doing the will of my heavenly Father. *Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. *”Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and yet don’t do what I tell you? *And those who belong to Christ Jesus have put to death their human nature with all its passions and desires.

Do you know that when you say that Jesus is the Lord of your life, you are saying that He owns your life? If Jesus really owns your life, then all you do with your life should be what He wants you to do with your life. You must live to please and honour Him in every way and at all times. That is how you show that He is really the Lord of your life. It is the love of Jesus that should constrain and control your every thought, word and action. He died for us so that we will no longer live for ourselves but for Him who died and rose for us, (2Cor.5:14-15).

The day you died with Jesus on the Cross, your own life ended. It is Christ’s Life you are living now, (Gal.2:20). By the cross of Christ, you are dead to the things of this world and the things of this world are dead to you, (Gal.6:14). You are alive to Christ now. “You have accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord. Now keep on following him,” (Col.2:6). Do not just call Him Lord, yield yourself to Him and obey Him. By keeping in view His great and loving mercies, keep offering your body and your whole life to Him as a living sacrifice and keep renewing your mind with His truth so you can be transformed into His likeness more and more and you can know and do His will more and more, (Rom.12:1-2, NIV).

Consider yourself dead to sin and alive to God through Christ, (Rom.6:11). Surrender to Jesus daily by dying to the desires of your flesh and living holy and blameless unto God. Ask Him, “Lord what will you have me do?” Tell Him, “here am I Lord, send me.” Use me for your will and glory. The nature of Christ in you grows as you yield yourself more to Him. God will also use you more and more to fulfil His purpose for your life.

Prayer Focus:
Declare that Jesus is Lord of your life and surrender yourself to Him right now. Ask Him to come and have His way in your life today.
