IS WHAT YOU’RE DOING RIGHT?

2Kings 7:8-9 (NIV)

The men who had leprosy reached the edge of the camp, entered one of the tents and ate and drank. Then they took silver, gold and clothes, and went off and hid them. They returned and entered another tent and took some things from it and hid them also. Then they said to each other, “What we’re doing is not right. This is a day of good news and we are keeping it to ourselves.…

There was such a terrible famine in Israel that people were willing to buy dove’s dung at a high price as well as eat their own children, (2Kings 6:25-29). Out of frustration, four lepers decided to go to the enemy’s camp; not bothered if they would be killed there but on getting there the entire Syrian army had fled leaving behind abundant food, weapons and wealth. God made the Syrian army hear the noise of chariots, horses and a great army so they fled in haste, (2Kings 7:3-6).

As the four lepers found the abundant food and wealth, they began eating and hiding wealth for themselves. They moved from tent to tent doing this until they realized and said to themselves that keeping such good news to themselves is not right. They then went back and told the people of Israel and through them, the famine in the land ended.

You were once in bondage and without hope and without God, but now you have received salvation and you’re experiencing the love and the grace of God. From service to service, from program to program you are enjoying the Gospel and the power and the glory of God but you are hiding it to yourself. When there are so many people out there wandering, lost and suffering under the bondage of sin and the oppression of the devil. Is what you’re doing right?

PRAYER:
DEAR FATHER, I AM WILLING TO SPREAD THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST SO THAT OTHERS CAN BE FREE FROM SIN AND DEVIL’S BONDAGE; AND RECEIVE SALVATION.
