“When Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby.”John 11:4 KJV
The God we serve has not gone on vacation. Therefore, you must never discount yourself. The Word of God works. If it has gone out of the lips of the Master, He will hasten the Word to perform it.
The Bible says: “So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it” (Isaiah 55:11 KJV).
Look at the story of Lazarus. He was given up by his sisters: Mary and Martha. That was why they allowed him to be put in the grave and sealed. They depended on human hope. When they ran to Jesus and He did not come when they wanted Him, they gave up on Him. That was why they said if you had been here, we know you would have healed, but now, he is dead. This miracle is above you. The Bible says it was now 4 days and according to Jewish tradition this was enough time to verify that somebody is truly dead. It’s no more a coma. But Jesus said: “…This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby.” Jesus was saying in essence that this is an occasion for God to reveal another side of Himself. He is a many-sided God. But they could not understand Him.
Martha did not believe. As far as the two sisters were concerned, It was too late, “If you would have been here,” they said. If it was today, they would have said something like: Despite all we did! We supported your ministry and when we needed your help, you disappointed us. We were the biggest givers! Now that we needed your help, you failed us.
Jesus stepped in when it was already hopeless and made the difference. He is the Game Changer. When He called you, He didn’t call you into hopelessness. He called you into glory.
