JESUS PERFECTLY UNDERSTANDS YOU

Hebrews 2:17-18 (TLB), Hebrews 4:15 (NIV)

…it was necessary for Jesus to be like us… so that he could be our merciful and faithful High Priest before God…who would be both merciful to us and faithful to God in dealing with the sins of the people. For since he himself has now been through suffering and temptation, he knows what it is like when we suffer and are tempted, and he is wonderfully able to help us. *For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin.

The way you react to someone going through an experience you have gone through, will be different from how someone who has not gone through that experience will react to that person. Jesus loves and understands you perfectly, because when He came to this earth to live as a human being like you and me, He went through exactly what you are going through. In James 1:13, the Bible confirms that God cannot be tempted with evil, but our last text above shows us that Jesus was tempted in every way, just as we are and yet He was without sin. The Bible reveals that God does not sleep nor slumber (Psa. 121:4) but Mark 4:38 evidences the fact that Jesus was fast asleep in a boat at sea with His disciples. It is also because He was a human like us that He had to consistently pray unto God the Father the way that He did, (Heb.5:7).

Beloved, Jesus will never condemn you because He perfectly understands what it means to go through what you are going through. Instead, He is always ready to make His grace available for you, to triumph and overcome and be victorious in every situation that you face, just like He overcame. In the Living Bible, Hebrews 4:15-16 says, “This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses since he had the same temptations we do, though he never once gave way to them and sinned. So let us come boldly to the very throne of God and stay there to receive his mercy and to find grace to help us in our times of need.” Jesus is always stretching His arms out to help you. Resist the temptation to run away from Jesus when you need Him the most. Run to Him! You are not condemned and unworthy. Come boldly to Him to receive His mercy and His grace. He came just for you. Receive His touch, His grace and His glory right now.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I thank you that Jesus perfectly understands me and His grace is always available to help me overcome every temptation I face.
