TOPIC: Jesus The King?
TEXT: John 12:12-22
12. On the next day much people that were come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,
13. Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna; Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord.
14. And Jesus, when he had found a young ass, sat thereon; as it is written,
15. Fear not, daughter of Sion; behold, thy King cometh, sitting on an ass’s colt.
16. These things understood not his disciples at the first; but when Jesus was glorified, then remembered they that these things were written of him, and that they had done these things unto him.
17. The people therefore that was with him when he called Lazarus out of his grave, and raised him from the dead, bare record.
18. For this cause the people also met him, for that they heard that he had done this miracle.
19. The Pharisees therefore said among themselves, Perceive ye how ye prevail nothing? behold, the world is gone after him.
20. And there were certain Greeks among them that came up to worship at the feast;
21. The same came therefore to Philip, which was of Bethsaida of Galilee, and desired him, saying, Sir, we would see Jesus.
22. Philip cometh and telleth Andrew; and again Andrew and Philip tell Jesus.

DCLM Daily Manna 14 December 2019 – Jesus The King?
MESSAGE:
Hell broke loose when the wise men from the East broke the news in Jerusalem “Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him” (Matthew 2:2).
Satan together with his human agents collaborated frantically to eliminate the child Jesus. Satan will stop at nothing to ensure that your life and faith in Christ is snuffed out. How we need to be wary of the devil and his cohorts in watching over our faith. Lazarus, in preceding verses of this chapter, was marked for assassination by the Jewish leaders because by reason of his resurrection, many Jews had come to accept Christ as their Lord.
While the devil and the confused sinners around were contending the fact of Jesus’ kingship, the happy worshippers who came to the feast at Jerusalem organised a royal ‘Hossanah March’ for the King of the Jews. This triumphant entry of Jesus into Jerusalem had long been prophesied by the Psalmist: “Blessed be he that cometh in the name of the LORD: we have blessed you out of the house of the LORD” (Psalm 118:26). Nothing can change the plan and purpose of our God concerning this anointed King. In the same vein, we should know that what God has written concerning us will certainly come to pass.
Let us make bold therefore to declare and uphold Jesus as King everywhere we go. We must not allow the opposition and threats of the world to silence us. Jesus Christ is King!
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
Christ our royal Captain leads the war against the forces of evil.
