And it shall come to pass afterward that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions

Two monumental things occurred on the Day of Pentecost: the New Testament church was birthed, and the beginning of the Last Days commenced.

On that day, 120 believers gathered in an upper room. As they prayed in one place and in one accord, a mighty wind rushed in, and tongues of fire rested on each of their heads. They received power to be witnesses to the ends of the earth. The church was born.

People from all over the world – of all languages – were in Jerusalem to celebrate the Feast of Weeks. To their astonishment, these 120 disciples – most of them unlearned fishermen – began to declare, in languages previously unknown to them, the story of the virgin-born Son of God Who was crucified but rose again on the third day.

While many presumed them drunk, Peter corrected them when he quoted the prophet, Joel. God fulfilled His Word and ushered in the Last Days when He began to pour out His Spirit at Pentecost.

As the New Testament church, we still change the world not through buildings or budgets or programs, but by the truth of the glorious Gospel delivered through the power of the Holy Spirit that God continues to pour out on all flesh.

Blessing:

May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you and give you His peace. May you be filled with the power of the Holy Spirit to testify of your soon-coming King!
