He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him

Communion promises the presence of Christ. As we share the bread and wine, we receive His body and blood, His promises and provision.

If we have heard His call and opened the door, He will come right in and sit down to eat with us (Revelation 3:20). If we bring a hearty appetite to the table, He will reward us with the fullness that can only be found in Him. Fully partaking of His body and His blood bring the abundant life that we all crave (John 6:55-59).

When we “make a meal of Him,” taking in the Bread of Heaven, we will live forever. The person whom Christ abides in and who abides in Christ will never die – ever.

Jesus also promises to never leave or abandon us (Hebrews 13:5). He promises to be with us, moment by moment, to the very ends of the earth to the very end of the age (Matthew 28:20).

When we participate in Communion, we experience His presence. His touch comforts the brokenhearted and reassures us that He will stand beside us, turning the darkness into glorious light. He will lift the heaviest burden and transform our fear into faith.

He comes near to bring hope and healing, to enliven and inspire, to touch and transform, to anoint and abide.

Blessing:

May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you and give you His peace. May you experience the nearness of Jesus every moment. May He abide to empower and inspire you to live out His purposes in your life.
