KEEP THE FIRE BURNING

“Keep the fire burning on the Altar continuously. It must not go out.” Leviticus 6:13 (MSG)

Do you know that there are church folks who listen to the Word of God and when the Holy Spirit instructs them on what to do, they will say: “No, I have heard that before. Isn’t there anything new you are going to tell me?” They use what they call ‘common sense.’ However, in God’s Kingdom and spiritual things, we are interfacing with the wisdom of God, not common sense. Many people are latched on to the wisdom of the world. They depend on the television, newspapers, social media etc. Thus, they end up destroying their faith. You need to ask yourself: What was it that brought me to this point? You know where you were before God picked you up and where you are now. Are you losing it? Is it the social media that is now instructing you on how to serve God?

You don’t just join a church; God brings you into the church because it is a spiritual connection. God chooses you and connects you. Who in the world told you that you already know how God functions? Who lied to you? Who told you that you can use your carnal mind to know God? He said, “my ways are higher than your ways, and my thoughts are higher than your thoughts.”

You don’t know God simply because you went to church on Sunday morning or because you’ve been in church for over two decades. At my level, I’m still knowing and discovering God more. Paul says: “that I may know him, the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His suffering” (Philippians 3:10 KJV). Paul was caught to the third heaven. He wrote almost all the epistles yet he said, “I don’t know Him yet. I am not yet perfect. I follow after, if I can apprehend that for which I am apprehended” (V12). Where is your passion?

When you are passionate, it develops something within you that no man can take away. It keeps you fresh, mentally alert, strong spiritually and filled with vitality.
