Know Your Worth and Value
Psalm 87:3 (NIV), Matthew 5:14, 1 Peter 2:9, Luke 17:28(NIV)
Glorious things are said of you. O city of God: Selah *Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid. *But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood an holy nation, a peculiar people; that you should show forth the praises of Him who hath called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. I tell you, among those born of women there is no one greater than John; yet the one who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.
Where do you get your sense of worth and value from? In our world today, so many people seek their worth and value from a ephemeral things. You are one with Christ (1 Corinthians 6:17). As Christ is, so are you in this world (1 John 4 17 ). When He was on the earth, Jesus got His sense of what and value straight from God the Father. 2 Peter 1:17 says about Jesus that, “…… he received honour and glory from God the Father when the voice came to him from the Majestic Glory, saying, “This is my Son, whom I love, with him I am well pleased.” The first time God made this statement to Jesus in Luke 3:22, Jesus had not even begun His ministry or achieved any mighty work.
You are valuable and special to God, not because of the things you have done but because of who God has made you and how He has chosen to see you. God has made you His beloved child, just like Jesus is. The Bible says, “Look with wonder at the depth of the Father’s marvelous love that He has lavished on us! He has called us and made us His very own beloved children (1 John 3: 1a).
Stop seeking external validation. Just grow in your understanding of how valuable you are in the eyes of God. As you do this you will not only be more whole and complete as a person you will also manifest God’s wholeness and fullness in every area of your life. Instead of trying to feel special you will start making others feel special. You are so valuable and special to God that God was willing to sacrifice Jesus just to get you. You are as valuable to God as Jesus is to God. That is why God loves you just as he loves Jesus (John 17:23) and that is why Jesus has sent you into the world, just as the Father sent him (John 20:21). God has the same confidence in you that He has in Jesus.
Faith Declaration:
I am as valuable to God as Jesus is to Him. I am one with Christ. As Jesus is so am I. I am God’s beloved child. I am special and loved.
