KNOWING AND FULFILLING YOUR MINISTRY

Colossians 4:17 (KJV, TPT, CEV), Ephesians 4:7

And say to Archippus, Take heed to the ministry which thou hast received in the Lord, that thou fulfil it. *Be sure you give Archippus this message: “Be faithful to complete the ministry you received from our Lord Jesus!” *Remind Archippus to do the work that the Lord has given him to do. *But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.

Every believer has received a ministry from the Lord Jesus Christ. This ministry is a function or service God wants us to carry out to bless others. Like every part of your body has a specific role or function, as a part of the Body of Christ, you also have a specific role or function. In Christ, God has gifted and equipped you for the ministry/ assignment that He has given you. We do not choose our ministry or assignment, we discover it as we serve and receive training in the Body of Christ and as we follow the leading of the Spirit.

Every ministry is a reflection of Christ and we all are ambassadors of Christ. Every believer has been given the ministry of reconciliation, (2Cor.5:18-20). No matter your ministry, you must do the work of an evangelist. “But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry,” (2Tim.4:5). Don’t despise your ministry, magnify it, (Rom.11:13). Do not compare yourself and compete with others. Cooperate and work effectively together with others, (Eph.4:16).

Keep growing into the fullness of Christ. Do not allow anything move or discourage you (Acts 20:24). Be steadfast and unmovable and give yourself abundantly to the work of the Lord. Your labour is not in vain in the Lord, (1Cor.15:58). Jesus Himself will reward you, (Rev.22:12).

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, as I grow into the fullness of Christ, please help me to know and adequately fulfill the ministry you have given me.
