“Labour not to be rich: cease from thine own wisdom.” – Proverbs 23:4

Most people want to be rich! Most people are working because they want to be rich. Most people are labouring day and night so that they become rich. Yet the scripture says, “Labour not to be rich.” Labour not to be rich is a clear instruction from the Lord!

If you should not labour to be rich, what should you do? Why are we working if we are not trying to be rich? What should a businessman do? Should he not try to be rich? What should he do? Why should a man not aim to be wealthy? Because God’s Word says so!

What then must you give your life to? Indeed, there are things you can aim for and labour for other than riches. Instead of trying to be rich, you will learn to labour for other things.

It is not a wise thing for you to aim to be rich because God’s Word says so. God wants to give you a better vision for your life. Instead of labouring to be rich, it is better for you to labour to be blessed and to labour to be a blessing.

The scripture says, we should stop trying to be wiser than God. Cease from your own wisdom and do not labour to be rich.

After reading this, you will have a new vision. Your vision will not be to become a rich person. Your vision will be to become a person who is blessed by God. Your vision will be to become a blessing to others!
