LEARN TO REST IN HIM

“But those of us who trust God do enjoy his special place of rest…” Hebrews 4:3 (EASY)

Beloved, it is no longer news that there is so much anxiety, uncertainty, and difficulty in our world today. But Jesus tells us in John 16:33 that despite the challenges, we should be of good cheer because He has overcome the world. Therefore, we can confidently expect all things, both the good and bad to work out for our good. Jesus has deprived this world of the power to harm you. He has conquered the world for you and I, and this is why you can rest in Him.

The entire book of Hebrews chapter 4 reveals that God has prepared a place of rest for His children. God never intended for His children to suffer and struggle, but to overcome in every area of life. However, in order to get into this rest, we must believe that God is who He says He is and that He is faithful to His Word. The issue of believing is one that a lot of people struggle with because according to the world, ‘seeing is believing’ but in the kingdom of God, ‘believing is seeing.’

I was meditating over this issue of trust, and it occurred to me that we most likely do not understand the integrity of who is at stake here. We are talking about the God of the entire universe, the Alpha and the Omega. If we can truly understand who this God is and His integrity, it will be easier for us to trust. This is why we must continue to pursue intimacy with God so that we can understand who He is and learn to trust Him.

Child of God, in the midst of the chaos, there is a place of rest for you. But you must trust Him. Remember that God is not a man that He should lie, nor a son of man that He should repent. Once He says it, then it is done. Your mouth will surely testify of the goodness of God.
